Obristan is SCANDINAVIA. Scandinavian suffixes, and who flees Autocracy by going to Russia? And who flees to Poland?? NO ONE in the history of the world has fled to poland. That country has been getting its ass handed to it for about five hundred years. It is not important enough to be represented.

Honestly really, Poland?? Are you Polish? Why would you flee to POLAND. The Polish even fleed Poland during communism and the world wars. Really that sums it up, the POLISH even fleed poland during communism. Eye roll

First, about 800k Ukrainians and a lot of Vietnamese have fled to Poland.
Second, Poland had really had its ass kicked only 3 times: 1794, 1830, 1939. First time due to decay, other two due to bad timing.
Arstotzka - East Germany (East Germany was communist itself; Arstotzka in the game is a communist country.)
Kolechia - West Germany (West Germany was a federal republic. Kolechia fits this description.)
Obristan - Yugoslavia (Yugoslavia was neutral but at the same time communist. Until the Yugoslav Wars in the 90s would separate Yugoslavia into 6 independent countries and 1 self-declared one.)
Antegria - Switzerland (Antegria is landlocked and is neutral in the game. Arstotzkans don't escape there since the nearest neutral country is Obristan. Switzerland is also landlocked and is neutral in real life itself.)
Republia - France (France was a republic and so is Republia. Despite Republia being landlocked, France isn't.)
Impor - Japan (The city names are familiar because they're almost the same as Japanese cities. Especially Enkyo, a parody of Tokyo.)
United Federation - USA + Russia? (Its name is self-explanatory but the federation part, is Russian. Why? Because Russia's official name is the Russian Federation.)
Grestin - Berlin (West and East Grestin is a nod to West and East Berlin. Even the checkpoint border is a nod to the Berlin Wall.)
"Arstotzka is probably a totalitarian state or a fascist one (im not sure if its facist but there are some theories) that suffers an terrorist and immigration crisis"
Hell no, Arstotzka is not fascist at all, the fact that you said that triggers me.
Arstotzka more closely resembles communism rather than socialism due to it's citizens having to work for survival, Look more into the Soviet unions Ministry of Labor vs the Labor lottery, there is extreme similarities.
Antegria: South Korea if south korea was like north korea
Lucas Pope (papers please creator) has already said at some point that he made Kolechia and Arstotska inpired by East and West germany.
Obristan is the country that alot of people escape to to get a better life similar to sweden today
idk united fed just makes sense to be us
impors city names sound japanese
republia is definitly a dictatorial/totalitrian country which is shown in The Republia Times and antegria is similiar. In the republia times it is also said that there was a war and the government hates antegria and wants to make its citizens loyal tto the government simila to north korea
Arstotzka is East Germany
Kolechia is West Germany (although Kolechia is worse, the Border Wall represents the Berlin Wall, and Arstotzka has to be the Communist nation)
United Federation is America
Obristan is Switzerland (everyone escapes to Switzerland aka Obristan, and Switzerland aka Obristan is surrounded by mountains)
Impor is Japan
Antegria and Republia are dictatorships somewhere in Europe
This is what I think how the countries look like to me (not politically but just my crazy thoughts and from things I have seen):
Arstotzka - Russia (Probably obvious) +Арстотзка+
Kolechia - Britain (That flag though, that's why)
Obristan - Maybe Scandinavia, maybe Poland
U.F. - United States (The names of the city look American, like doesn't Great Rapid look American to you?)
Impor - Japan (Tsunkeido, Haihan and Enkyo sound really Japanese) +イムポール+
Republia - France +Republié+
Antegria - The name to me looks German for some reason. The cities too give me some German vibe. I don't know. (Outer Grouse = Äußere Gruß). Or maybe I am just high. I probably am high XD +Republik Antegrien+
